Cansu Tosun was born on January 26, 1988, in Nuremberg, Germany. She began her career modeling at the age of four and spent fifteen years studying ballet at the German Opera before shifting her focus to Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Modern Dance.
In 2010, Tosun relocated to Istanbul to pursue an acting career. She trained with the renowned 'BKM Mutfak' team led by Yılmaz Erdoğan and furthered her education at the 3Mota School under Ümit Çırak. She made her television debut in Küçük Hanımefendi (2011) and gained wider recognition for her portrayal of Zehra in the series Kayıp Şehir.
She solidified her status as a leading talent with the role of Ayşen in the acclaimed series Bugünün Saraylısı (2013).
Her filmography includes the movie İksir: Dedemin Sırrı (2014) and television roles in Göç Zamanı, Familya, and Bir Deli Sevda. On the international stage, Tosun worked with director Sonia Nassery Cole on I Am You and appeared in Luc Besson’s action thriller Anna (2019).
Expanding her European portfolio, she starred in the Dutch production Polis, the German-Austrian crime drama Die Toten vom Bodensee - Der Nachtalb (2023), and the German-Turkish film She Said Maybe (2025). Most recently, she portrayed Medine Kaya in the hit Turkish series Kirli Sepeti (2023-2024).
Tosun will next be seen in the feature film Tatlı Maya. She is also actively involved as a co-producer and lead actress in the upcoming international project Loya.
